Before noon on Monday, the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, called the Commander of the International Forces operating in the south (UNIFIL), General Deodato Abagnara, and offered him his condolences on the martyrdom of the Indonesian soldier who fell as a result of his position in the town of Adshit al-Qusayr being bombed, which also led to the wounding of another soldier. Aoun renewed his condemnation of the attack on peacekeeping forces operating in the south, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded soldier, and noting “the sacrifices of the international soldiers working for UNIFIL in southern Lebanon.”
