Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced that the army carried out an attack targeting the largest petrochemical facility in the Asalouyeh region in Iran, indicating that the operations were part of an escalation targeting vital infrastructure.
He added that he had instructed the army to continue striking Iran's "national infrastructure" with "full force" as part of ongoing operations.
The minister explained that the strikes resulted in the disruption of two major facilities responsible for about 85% of Iran's petrochemical exports, without providing additional details about the extent of the damage or the timing of the attacks.
