“Restraint has ended”... The Revolutionary Guard threatens to strike energy facilities in the region

On Tuesday, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard issued direct threats to neighboring countries, warning that “restraint has ended,” and vowing to target the infrastructure of the United States and its partners, including energy facilities and oil and gas supplies in the region.
The Revolutionary Guard said in a statement that any transgression of “red lines” by American forces will be met with a response “outside the region,” stressing that the response may extend to include vital interests, noting that some targets were previously excluded “out of consideration for neutrality and good neighborliness,” but that these considerations “will be removed from now on.”
He added that Tehran “will not start targeting civilian facilities,” but it “will not hesitate to respond in kind” if its facilities are attacked, referring to the recent strikes on the Iranian petrochemical sector.
In the most serious aspect of the statement, the Revolutionary Guard pledged to deal with the energy infrastructure “in a way that deprives the United States and its allies of the region’s oil and gas for years,” which places vital facilities in the Gulf under threat, in light of global markets’ heavy reliance on energy supplies from the region.
These statements come in the context of a continuing military escalation, as the Revolutionary Guard announced the implementation of attacks as part of Operation “True Promise 4,” targeting American bases and interests in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, in addition to military sites in Israel, using ballistic and cruise missiles and drones.
