The Ministry of Economy and Trade confirmed today, Friday, that “the statement circulating, quoting the director of the World Food Program in Lebanon, was taken out of its context and relates only to the besieged villages in the south and does not concern all of Lebanon, and those concerned will clarify this matter.”
Al-Eqtisad indicated that “the food stock in Lebanon is sufficient for three or four months, and supply chains and import and export movement are operating normally at ports and land crossings.”
She added: “Work at the ports, especially the port of Beirut, and at the land crossings continues normally, including the Masnaa crossing, which has been reopened. Holidays and public holidays have also been considered normal working days to provide maximum capacity.”
She concluded: “Coordination continues with all those concerned in the food file, including the port and crossing administrations, Lebanese customs, importers, and supermarket owners. Work continues normally and with maximum absorptive capacity, and the strategic stock of food and fuel is available.”
