Deputy Amal: Our position is firm on negotiation and aggression
Fady Mahouly
Member of the “Development and Liberation” bloc, MP Dr. Qabalan Qabalan, wrote on the “X” platform: “Morning patience, and patience is beautiful... Principles are not stupid to ask for, rather they are constant. When a free person is given the choice between dying honorable or living in humiliation, he does not think about the strength of his enemy, his weapons, and his barbarism, but rather he thinks about whether he is right or not, and makes his decision on this basis.”
He said: “I was asked why this conversation now, so I tell you that the principles are not a set of shirts that you wear in the summer and another in the winter, but rather they are your skin attached to your flesh, and if they change, they are removed and the flesh becomes without protection, and the sun, air, and wind dry it out until it becomes rotten and worn out?”
He continued: "You also ask me why I am talking like this, and simply, do you not see what is going on? First, there are parties who do not disagree on anything, yet they are negotiating, over what? No one knows! Is it possible that they are talking about mobile massacres from village to village and from city to city? Or about martyrs among the people, or those who defend their homes, land, country, religion, and dignity, or about martyrs of the army, state security, and other security and military agencies? No! Maybe they are talking about an assassination. Journalists and paramedics, and the destruction of hospitals, civil defense centers, and emergency societies, or the destruction of bridges and infrastructure! No, no, it does not make sense, as these matters are not of great importance.”
He added: "There are people who have a fixed and true principle that they cling to and do not accept to abandon it, and despite their awareness that this matter is very costly, steadfastness is also very costly. And you wonder: Who wins in the end, is he the one who remains good or the one who is martyred? It is not always the one who remains good who wins, because he may not die, but he loses many moral matters, not material ones, such as dignity, pride, championing the truth, and abandoning the support of the oppressed... What do you say? Where are we in that? And where are we in that? Are these values sold? You are right, but we have learned from popular literature that there is a big difference between someone who rescues a hanged person with a hair from his mustache, and someone whose mustaches do not benefit anything. The former is respected by people because he was a person of principle and dignity, while the latter is not cared about because he has no principle, and does not know the value of dignity, honor, and pride, and does not care about truth or falsehood, but only cares about himself.”
He said: "Keep in mind that whoever dies is not always considered a loser. Death with truth and steadfastness is a great, great, great victory."
He added: "For all those who have a cause called truth, beware of strife. Direct your eyes towards the south, bear everything that is happening behind you, and stay away from sectarian chants, as they are Israel's demand. Let the slogan at this stage inside Lebanon be what Imam al-Sadr said and what President Nabih Berri and the rest of the honorable people in the country are keen on: Peace in Lebanon is the best aspect of the war with Israel."
He concluded: “I repeat and say to everyone who asks what is your position: The position is fixed and does not change, and we have always expressed it, most recently on March 25, with a clear statement to the Presidency, that we are not interested in any direct contact with the enemy, and that the only way is to implement international resolutions, especially 1701, that is, a ceasefire, withdrawal, reconstruction, and implementing all the steps of the decision through the agreed upon mechanism (mechanism). We know that the price is high, and we believe that God will not abandon us because we do not We attack, but rather we repel aggression.”
