Hajj Hassan: The authority achieved nothing from the negotiations except more concessions
Fady Mahouly
The head of the “Baalbek-Hermel Representatives” bloc, a member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, MP Dr. Hussein Haj Hassan, confirmed that the authority in Lebanon has pursued wrong policies, including full response to American dictates, in addition to going to direct negotiations with the Israeli enemy, violating the constitution, institutions and law that considers Israel an enemy. Despite all of that, this authority has not achieved anything from these negotiations except more submission and more dangerous concessions.
He called on the authority in Lebanon to take the initiative and correct its sins for its own sake, so that it remains an authority capable of carrying out its role and achieving stability, and for its officials to be rulers of all the Lebanese people as they claim, and not of half, a third, or a quarter of them, and so on, stressing that “the Lebanese national interest lies in strengthening national unity and stability, while the policies of those in power today do not enhance national unity or protect stability.”
He pointed out that "negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America were supposed to begin within a period of sixty days in order to complete the discussion of the outstanding issues, but the Iranian delegation did not go to Switzerland because the Israelis did not adhere to the ceasefire in Lebanon." He considered that "Iran has proven to the entire world, especially to the peoples of the Arab and Islamic region, that it represents the true source of loyalty and commitment," pointing out that it has repeatedly affirmed that it "will not sign a framework agreement without Lebanon being the first item in it."
He stressed that "Iran, which has supported the resistance movements since the victory of the revolution, closed the enemy's embassy and opened an embassy for Palestine, and provided various forms of support to the resistance movements in the region, today stands by Lebanon and the resistance there," considering that it has thus "silenced those who doubted its role, support, and commitment to Lebanon and the resistance."
He concluded by stressing that "confronting the enemy with all its weapons, power, and technology requires great sacrifices, but what is being paid is in the face of an existential threat, not illusions," noting that the enemy's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, uploaded a few months ago a map of what is called "Greater Israel," which includes Lebanon, Palestine, most of Syria, Jordan, and parts of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, stressing the conviction that "the first duty of any member of the nation and society is to confront the existing, past, and future Zionist project."
