The Electricité du Liban said that an Israeli attack targeted southern Lebanon earlier today, Thursday, which led to a major electricity transmission station being out of service, in an indication of the escalation of Israeli attacks on Lebanese infrastructure.
She added in a statement published by Lebanese media, “The main substation in Al-Sultaniya, Bint Jbeil District, was targeted, which according to preliminary data led to the destruction of all distribution outlet cells and damage to one of the power transformers in addition to the control and protection room, and thus this main substation became completely out of service.” She explained that this station “feeds the city of Bint Jbeil, the surrounding villages, Joya, and some villages in the Tyre district.”
