An American official confirmed that “the scheduled technical discussions between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran will be held according to the specified timetable.”
He pointed out that the technical talks at the expert level, which were scheduled to be held during the next few days, are still taking place as planned.
He explained that it "will focus on the mechanisms for implementing the provisions of the memorandum of understanding signed between Washington and Tehran."
He said: The recent escalation in the Strait of Hormuz “did not lead to canceling the talks or changing their schedule,” denying the validity of what some media reported in this regard.
He stressed that "the channels for preventing conflict, which were agreed upon during the Bürgenstock discussions in Switzerland, are working effectively and contributing to containing tensions and preventing them from sliding into a broader confrontation."
