The Moroccan team reserved its place in the quarter-finals after its well-deserved victory over its Canadian counterpart by three unanswered goals.
The first half ended in a goalless draw, before Azzedine Ounahi opened the scoring for the “Atlas Lions” in the 50th minute, taking advantage of a smart pass from Achraf Hakimi following a free kick, to hit a ground ball from outside the penalty area that landed in the left corner of Canada’s goal.
Onahi returned to add his second personal goal in the 82nd minute, after investing in a quick counterattack and a perfect pass from Ibrahim Diaz, to strengthen the Moroccan team’s lead and confirm its superiority.
In stoppage time, specifically in the seventh minute, Sofiane Rahimi completed the Moroccan hat-trick, confirming the qualification of the “Atlas Lions” to the quarter-finals.
