The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, met at Baabda Palace with the Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager of the CMA CGM Group, Rodolphe Saadeh, accompanied by the Group’s General Manager in Lebanon and the Near East, Joe Dakkak. During the meeting, the general situation in Lebanon and the region was presented, in addition to the activity of the CMA CGM Group in Lebanon and the prospects for its development. During the meeting, Saadeh affirmed “the group’s commitment to continuing its presence in Lebanon,” expressing its “desire to expand its investments and enhance its activity during the next stage.” President Aoun welcomed this trend, praising the group’s confidence in Lebanon and its continued investment in it, and stressing “the state’s keenness to encourage productive investments and provide an appropriate environment for them, in a way that contributes to supporting the process of economic recovery and creating new job opportunities.” President Aoun also discussed with the Mayor of the Cumberland Council in Australia, Ola Hamed, Lebanese-Australian relations, and the conditions of the Lebanese community and people of Lebanese descent in Australia.
