On Friday afternoon, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received the Indian Deputy Minister of External Affairs and Secretary for Passports, Visas and Overseas Indian Affairs, Sripriya Ranganathan, and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Indian Ambassador to Lebanon, Muhammad Nour Rahman Sheikh. Ranganathan noted, "We discussed bilateral relations between our two countries. The conversation was very fruitful, during which we discussed our long-term relations and how to strengthen and develop them. We also presented our views on various regional and global issues, and the meeting was very good." He also received a delegation of contract professors at the Lebanese University headed by Dr. Mustafa Ragheb, which included Drs. Mansour Tawk, Walid Al-Soufi, Kamil Al-Ashqar, Hisham Al-Fallou, Ali Awad, Muhammad Shukr, Claire Fakhr Al-Din, Rafiq Merhej, Rula Youssef, Farid Othman, and Suhail Tawk. Ragheb said after the meeting: “We, the professors contracted with the Lebanese University, discussed with President Nawaf Salam the implementation of the decision issued on February 17, which stipulates the sabbatical of professors, especially since the first batch will join on September 1, and we are on the verge of that date, and until now, the decree has not been issued specifying the names of the professors who will be included in the first and second batches. For this reason, we came to meet with His Excellency the President, who promised to present the file to the cabinet session that It will be held on the third or tenth of September.”
