President Joseph Aoun is preparing to visit the White House and meet with US President Donald Trump before the end of this July, in order to complete the fortification of the framework agreement with Israel, await its translation, and prepare to start a “military workshop” in the south under the direct supervision and supervision of the Americans. In his meeting with Trump, Aoun will discuss the reality of Lebanon since the signing of the Armistice Agreement in 1949 until today, with a focus on the Israeli dealings with Lebanon throughout all these decades and what it has affected the people of the south. The official visit comes after Benjamin Netanyahu met with Trump. It is true that the joint materials between Lebanon and Israel will be on Trump’s table, but there is no validity for the meeting between Aoun and Netanyahu, knowing that the President of the Republic “is not in this regard,” and does not accept the matter with the continued Israeli attacks on the Lebanese and the encroachment of their lands. If Aoun and Netanyahu meet in the same hall, he will leave immediately. Trump's call with Aoun, which lasted 17 minutes, "was good," and they agreed on a number of points and to continue discussing them in the White House. Trump showed understanding of what he heard, expressed positive intentions and showed affection for Lebanon. There is no doubt that the direct meeting between the two presidents will push them to open the entire file and the framework agreement in its broad scope to work on its implementation, while scrutinizing Netanyahu’s influence in America and his exploitation of the matter in the Knesset elections. Aoun admits for the hundredth time that this agreement is “not ideal,” but he links its acceptance to a set of facts on the ground and the balance of power in the south that is in Israel’s interest. This will not prevent him from adhering to his rights and restoring his occupied land, with Aoun praising the great role played by the Lebanese negotiating delegation in Washington with its diplomatic and military wings, denying any divergence between them. It is known that the security attaché was appointed with the approval of the officers, and he was the one who requested not to take a photo with the Israelis out of respect for the martyrs of the army and the people in the south. How will the agreement be implemented on the ground? Aoun reveals to "An-Nahar" that military communications have come a long way and will appear on the ground, starting with the first experimental area in Zotrin in Nabatieh, with the fear that Israel will attack Ali al-Taher Hill, and then the scene will be in another location. The concerned Lebanese delegation had contacted US Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding this hill, on the condition that it would become the possession of the Lebanese army, and Netanyahu agreed to the proposal, which Hezbollah rejected. It has become clear that the “Mechanisms” Committee no longer exists in its previous form, and it has become a triumvirate (American-Lebanese-Israeli) and will operate under the name (MCG4L) headed by General Joseph Clearfield, and managed from his country’s embassy in Awkar, and there will be no direct coordination between Lebanese and Israeli officers. Clearfield has a good relationship with the Army Commander, General Rudolph Heikal, knowing that France will not participate in the final version, as it continues to prepare for the army support conference in cooperation with Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Aoun asserts that there is no truth to all the talk about creating an army force or brigade to carry out the mission or subjecting its officers to American examinations. He responded that this force would be from any brigade operating in the south or outside it, and there would be no distinction between one officer and another, and “we have full confidence in our officers and soldiers who work under the banner and leadership of the institution and are making great sacrifices.”
