With an official invitation... Aoun is in Washington to meet Trump

The Lebanese Embassy in Washington announced that the White House has sent an official invitation to the President of the Lebanese Republic, General Joseph Aoun, to visit the American capital, Washington, and meet with US President Donald Trump on July 21, 2026.
The embassy noted, “This invitation reflects the established partnership between Lebanon and the United States, and constitutes an opportunity for the two presidents to discuss issues of common interest, including bilateral relations, regional security, and continued American support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, stability, territorial integrity, and official institutions.”
She stressed that "this visit comes after an intense period of diplomatic efforts made by the Lebanese Embassy in Washington, in close coordination with the Presidency of the Lebanese Republic and senior officials in the US administration, with the aim of strengthening bilateral dialogue at the highest levels and completing the arrangements that led to this official visit."
The embassy explained that it is coordinating all aspects of the President’s visit in close cooperation with the Presidency, the White House, and the US Department of State, to ensure the success of the bilateral meeting.
