Prime Minister Nawaf Salam wrote on the “X” platform: At a delicate regional stage that calls for the highest levels of consultation and coordination between friendly countries, I accepted the invitation of the President of the Turkish Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to a working dinner that he held in Istanbul, within the framework of my official visit to the Republic of Turkey. The meeting, in which Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan participated, was an occasion to stress the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation between our two countries and working to raise Lebanese-Turkish relations to the level of a strategic partnership in a way that serves the interests of both countries and contributes to supporting security and stability in the region. It appreciated the support provided by Turkey to Lebanon, especially during recent months at the level of humanitarian aid. I assured President Erdogan that Lebanon adheres to the independence of its decision and to working to extend its full authority over its lands, and that it seeks to mobilize the support of all friendly and brotherly countries, in order to ensure the cessation of Israel’s attacks and its withdrawal from all of its lands. For his part, President Erdogan reiterated to me Turkey’s support for Lebanon and its efforts to secure Israel’s withdrawal from its entire territory and its keenness to make its decision independent and to preserve its security, territorial integrity and stability, stressing his country’s interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation between our two countries and developing it in various fields.
