His Excellency the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Nabih Berri, cabled his condolences to the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the death of the former Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. President Berri added: With his departure, Lebanon and the Lebanese are the first tear of sadness. We will always keep him as a friend and a balm for our wounds, and a white hand that unites and supports, in word and deed, and a firm stance alongside Lebanon and the Lebanese in their peace, stability, unity, and renaissance on the day of glory. Speaker Berri concluded: Your Highness, in my name and in the name of the Parliament, I extend to you, from the rest of the honorable family, and from all the brotherly Qatari people, my deepest condolences and sympathy, asking the Almighty Lord to inspire us and you with great patience and solace, and to rest the great departed in his heavens, and to bestow upon you abundant health and wellness, and upon the State of Qatar and its brotherly people, continued security and stability, and the Almighty’s saying is sufficient for us and for you, (I am To Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.) God Almighty has spoken the truth.
