Hezbollah mourns a former Emir of Qatar: We value his position in support of the Palestinian cause
Fady Mahouly
A statement issued by Hezbollah condoling the death of the former Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani:
Hezbollah extends its deepest condolences to the State of Qatar, its Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, its government and its people, on the death of Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, asking God Almighty to cover him with His vast mercy, and to inspire his family with patience and solace.
Hezbollah recalls the prominent role played by the deceased in supporting Lebanon and standing by its people in most of the difficult stages it went through, especially the State of Qatar’s standing, under its leadership, with the resistance during the Zionist aggression against Lebanon in 2006, and its benevolent and notable contribution to the reconstruction of villages and homes destroyed by the aggression. We also remember the late Emir’s unique visit to the southern suburbs of Beirut and the city of Bint Jbeil at that time as an affirmation of his loyalty and love for the Lebanese people.
Hezbollah also appreciates the deceased’s positions in support of Arab and Islamic issues, most notably the Palestinian issue and the right of the Palestinian people to resist the occupation to restore their rights, land, and sanctities.
