The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces announced that the Information Division was able to uncover the circumstances of the murder of a woman in Halba and arrest the suspect within less than an hour of its occurrence. A statement issued by the Internal Security Forces explained that Mrs. H.M., born in 1986, was admitted to a hospital in Halba on July 3, 2026, with a gunshot wound to her abdomen from a hunting rifle, before she died as a result of her injury. Immediately after the crime occurred, the relevant units began their field and information investigations, which led to suspicions of the victim’s husband (K.M., born in 1974). After careful monitoring and surveillance, one of the Information Division patrols was able to locate his hiding place in the ancient town of Akkar, and carried out an ambush that resulted in his arrest within less than an hour of committing the crime. During the investigation, the detainee confessed to shooting his wife following a family dispute that broke out between them, which led to her death.
