The official education associations and contractor committees announced a “boycott of official, secondary and vocational examinations.” The Associations confirmed during a meeting held yesterday on the Zoom application that this step has become “an utmost necessity and a national and union duty,” after the authority blocked all dialogue outlets with its impromptu decisions. She considered in a statement, “The decision issued by the Council of Ministers to adopt a suspicious success rate (9.5/20) is an unjust decision that lacks the lowest standards of educational justice, and undermines the principle of equal opportunities, throwing more than 6,000 students into the furnace of the unknown and class and educational discrimination.” She said: “The Ministry of Education’s insistence on holding exams in light of the current security and psychological conditions pushes us to escalate.” She pointed out that "adopting the same success rate in various grades, with the exception of the ninth grade, raises question marks about the fairness in applying the standards." The attendees addressed an appeal to the representatives, calling on them to “reject the decision and work to put pressure on the government and the Ministry of Education to retract it, and to adopt an exceptional solution that requires granting official statements to all nominated students,” considering that this “constitutes the fairest option in the current circumstances.” The associations and committees announced a series of steps, the most notable of which are: “A comprehensive boycott of official examinations, including monitoring, supervision and correction, by professors, both private and contractors. Demanding the retraction of the Council of Ministers’ decision and the adoption of official statements for all nominated students. Calling for participation in a sit-in in conjunction with the House of Representatives session, to pressure a response to its demands. She affirmed her commitment to “escalation,” considering that “the unity of teachers and their commitment to the boycott constitutes a means to defend the rights of teachers and preserve educational justice and the future of students.”
