The General Directorate of Civil Defense announced that its members extinguished a fire that broke out inside two shipping containers in the port of Beirut, one of which was loaded with electrical tools, while the other was loaded with insulating materials, and they were assisted by the Beirut City Fire Brigade. She said in a statement: The elements were able to control and extinguish the fire, and prevent it from spreading to neighboring containers, and the necessary measures were taken in accordance with the rules. The Beirut Port Administration and Investment explained earlier that the smoke that was seen on Tuesday morning resulted from a limited renewal of ignition inside the insulated container that had been exposed to a fire yesterday, Monday, confirming that the Beirut Port firefighting team intervened immediately, with the support of the Beirut Fire Brigade and the Civil Defense, as the container was re-cooled and the fire was extinguished.
