Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tiani confirmed on Tuesday that Italy "has returned to the forefront regarding peace in Lebanon," noting that talks between the Lebanese and Israelis will begin today in Rome. Tiani explained that he encouraged the heads of the two delegations to make every effort to reach an agreement, stressing Italy's readiness to play its role in supporting this path. He stressed that achieving peace in Lebanon remains a very important goal, despite the difficulty of the task, expressing his hope that the talks will yield positive results.
