The Jordanian army announced on Thursday that its air defenses shot down 8 missiles launched from Iran towards the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, while mutual attacks between Washington and Tehran escalate. The statement, quoting a military source, reported that “air defense systems shot down, at dawn on Thursday, 8 Iranian missiles that were targeting the Kingdom’s territory,” stressing that there were “no casualties or material damage.” The military source confirmed that the interception operation was carried out within the framework of the approved defensive and operational measures, to preserve the Kingdom’s sovereignty, protect its airspace, and ensure the safety of citizens.
