Fayyad: The authority has abandoned its people
Fady Mahouly
Representative Ali Fayyad attacked the performance of the Lebanese authority, considering that it had “abandoned its people” and was indifferent to the Israeli attacks, and accused it of seeking to please the United States and negotiate in a way that serves the end of the resistance and its weapons.
Fayyad added, during a ceremony honoring Hezbollah for the martyr Muhammad Mahdi Ali Souli, that the end of the round of negotiations in Rome between the Lebanese delegation and Israel revealed, in his words, “the widening gap between the authority and Lebanese society, especially in the south.”
He pointed out that the continuation of the Israeli attacks, in conjunction with the negotiating track, places Lebanon before a “very dangerous stage,” warning of its repercussions on sovereignty and internal stability.
Fayyad stressed that "the resistance is ready for all possibilities," reiterating its adherence to what he described as its right to defend the homeland, liberate the land, and return the population to their villages.
At the end of his speech, he addressed the families of the martyrs, praising their sacrifices, and stressing that Hezbollah "maintained its cohesion despite the blows it was subjected to."
