Aoun in Washington... and a series of upcoming meetings

The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, and the First Lebanese woman, Mrs. Neamat Aoun, arrived at three o’clock yesterday afternoon, Washington time (10 p.m. Beirut time), to Andrews Military Air Base in Washington at the beginning of an official visit to the American capital at the invitation of US President Donald Trump.
President Aoun and the First Lady were received by the Director of Protocol at the US State Department, the Commander of the Air Base, the Lebanese Ambassador to the United States of America, Nada Hamada Moawad, the Head of the Lebanese Mission to the United Nations, Ambassador Ahmed Arafa, the Military Attaché at the Lebanese Embassy, Brigadier General Oliver Hakimah, the Consul Wissam Boutros, the embassy staff, and the director of the Middle East station in Washington, Adeeb Al-Qassis.
After a short break, President Aoun, Mrs. Aoun, and the accompanying delegation moved to the residence, where he met with Ambassador Moawad and the diplomatic and administrative staff of the embassy, and briefed them on the course of work, the conditions of the Lebanese community, and other topics related to the presidential visit.
President Aoun is scheduled to begin his official meetings tomorrow with a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and President Trump will receive him before noon next Tuesday at the White House. President Aoun will also have a series of meetings with members of the Senate and officials in the US administration
