The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan denied on Sunday issuing any decisions regarding the evacuation of Aqaba Airport or the port of Aqaba. The Jordanian News Agency "Petra" quoted the Minister of Government Communications and official spokesman for the Jordanian government, Muhammad Al-Momani, as saying, "The relevant authorities have not issued any evacuation decisions at Aqaba Airport or the port," pointing out that "Aqaba Airport and the port are operating normally, and any potential risks are warned about by the competent Jordanian authorities." Al-Momani confirmed that “no potential threats were recorded by the competent Jordanian authorities during the past hours.” The US Embassy in Jordan announced earlier today, Sunday, the evacuation of Aqaba International Airport and the port of Aqaba, in the south of the kingdom, due to a “specific and credible threat.” The embassy wrote through its account on the “X” platform: “We strongly advise all Americans to avoid traveling to the airport or port, and we urge them to continue following all security directives issued by the Jordanian authorities.” The embassy did not provide further details about the nature of the threat.
