Prime Minister Nawaf Salam held the weekly ministerial meeting. After the meeting, Information Minister Paul Morcos said: We held our morning meeting, as every Monday, in the presence of a number of ladies and gentlemen ministers and headed by the Prime Minister, to discuss three main topics. The first topic relates to studying ways to enhance electrical supply during the summer. As for the second topic, it relates to the visit of the Prime Minister to Türkiye, during which he stressed the independence of the Lebanese decision in negotiations, and the necessity of accelerating the Israeli withdrawal. He also raised with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan the issue of the tripartite electrical connection between Turkey, Syria and Lebanon. He also expressed interest in the memorandum of understanding between Turkey and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding the Hijaz line, in terms of activating the Tripoli-Homs and Beirut-Damascus lines. During the visit, Turkish investments were also discussed, especially in the field of infrastructure in Lebanon, in addition to reviving the free trade agreement between the two countries, provided that the Lebanese ministers follow up on these files with their Turkish counterparts, based on what the Prime Minister requested. As for the third and final topic, it relates to the visit of His Excellency the Minister of Economy and Trade to the Syrian Arab Republic, which the Prime Minister considered to have begun to achieve tangible results, after his previous visit to Syria and the launch of the joint Lebanese-Syrian committee. The Minister of Economy and Trade indicated that there are forty-two agreements between Lebanon and Syria, which will be subject to review by the competent ministers, each within their sector. The Minister of Economy also explained that his visit to Syria also dealt with the issue of border crossings, especially the Masnaa crossing, in terms of reconsidering port and traffic procedures and transactions, in a way that contributes to facilitating movement.
