The General Authority for Transport in Saudi Arabia reported that the oil tanker “Incelia”, belonging to a Saudi company, was attacked while sailing in the Red Sea. The Saudi News Agency (SPA) quoted an official source in the authority that all crew members are fine, stressing that the concerned authorities have taken the necessary measures to secure the ship and its crew, in addition to protecting the marine environment. On the other hand, the Houthis had previously announced the targeting of two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea, noting that they had carried out attacks using missiles and drones, against the backdrop of what they described as “violating the maritime navigation ban” imposed on the Kingdom. These developments coincided with the US military completing a new wave of strikes on Iran, for the twelfth night in a row, in light of escalating regional tensions. In turn, the British Maritime Trade Operations Authority (UKMTO) reported that the captain of an oil tanker reported that it had been exposed to an unknown projectile, about 70 nautical miles southwest of Al-Shuqaiq on the Saudi coast, which led to a fire breaking out on board, while the crew worked to extinguish it.
