The Permanent Military Court, headed by Brigadier General Wassim Fayyad, issued a ruling acquitting businessman Maroun Al-Saqr, brother of Ibrahim Al-Saqr, of the crime of trafficking in ammonium nitrate, against the backdrop of the army’s seizure of a truck loaded with ammonium nitrate on September 17, 2021 at the Iaat town junction in Baalbek Governorate.
It is noteworthy that 15 people were arrested in this case, including the Lebanese Maroun Al-Saqr and Ahmed Al-Zein and a number of people of Syrian nationality, and the file was referred to the competent judicial authorities for follow-up investigations.
