The media office of Representative Michel Daher warned citizens of an electronic fraud campaign that uses artificial intelligence techniques to impersonate Representative Daher, by publishing fabricated videos, photos, and advertisements claiming the existence of an investment platform licensed under his supervision that allows for financial profits. He said in a statement that fraudsters also use the logos of well-known media outlets to give credibility to these advertisements, before luring victims into transferring money under the pretext of investment, with the aim of stealing it. The media office confirmed that these allegations are completely false, and that Representative Michel Daher has no connection to any investment platform or party that promotes such advertisements, calling on citizens not to respond to them or transfer any money under any pretext. He pointed out that this method had previously been used with other figures and institutions, including the Governor of the Bank of Lebanon and Representative Nehme Frem, and today the name of Representative Michel Daher is being exploited in the same way. The office called on the relevant security and judicial agencies to take immediate action to prosecute those involved in these crimes, and to stop these fraudulent campaigns before they become victims of more citizens.”
