The President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, discussed in Baabda Palace the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the General Director of Middle East Airlines, Mr. Mohamed Al-Hout, the decision taken by US President Donald Trump during his meeting with President Aoun, to resume American airlines operating their flights to Beirut, after a 41-year hiatus, and the measures that must be adopted by the Lebanese side to achieve this. During the meeting, Al-Hout welcomed Trump's decision, thanking President Aoun for his efforts to revive the Beirut-New York line, which was stopped four decades ago. He pointed out that Middle East aircraft can secure this direct route, in addition to that the company will soon receive additional aircraft to enhance its air fleet. He pointed out that arrangements will be made in coordination with the American side, before the decision to open the line is put into effect by the Lebanese and American sides. In conclusion, President Aoun praised the role played by Middle East Airlines in connecting Lebanon to the world, despite the circumstances that Lebanon and the region are going through, praising the performance of its administrators and all its employees.
