The scholar, Mr. Ali Fadlallah, recalled the Beirut Port explosion, and said in a statement: “Every year we recall the bloody Beirut Port explosion, a tragedy that claimed the lives of hundreds of victims, left thousands injured, and caused massive devastation that affected the capital and its people. Unfortunately, after all these years, mystery still surrounds this crime, the whole truth has not emerged, and the justice that the Lebanese are waiting for has not been achieved.” He added: "We call for quickly revealing all the circumstances of what happened, and holding accountable everyone proven to be involved or responsible for this crime, regardless of any political or sectarian considerations." Fadlallah concluded: “It is the right of all the Lebanese, and the right of the families of the victims and the wounded, to know the full truth, and for justice to be achieved, so that this catastrophe will not be forgotten or passed on without accountability, and that this will be a guarantee that such tragedies that have struck the nation to the core will not be repeated.”
