Minister of Justice Adel Nassar confirmed that investigations into the explosion file are proceeding at a normal and sober pace, without any procrastination or delay. During a speech he delivered in front of the memorial in the Beirut Port, he stressed the full commitment to respecting the independence of the judiciary. He announced that the final decision on the file is supposed to be issued before the end of this year, in a step that would put an end to the long-standing anticipation. Nassar explained that the Judicial Council, which was subject to disruption over the past years, has been reconstituted with the current government, and it holds its meetings periodically at a rate of at least once a week, stressing that its work is characterized by seriousness and keenness to complete tasks without any delay or negligence, which reflects the serious will to do justice to the victims and their families.
