The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: On 8/3/2026, as a result of the security follow-up of smuggling operations across the northern and eastern borders, an army unit in the Arsal barrens seized 122 mm Grad rockets that had been smuggled from Syrian territory to Lebanese territory, in addition to a “pick-up” vehicle that was used to transport them, and arrested the two citizens (A.H.) and (M.W.), who are members of the smuggling network. It also carried out raids in search of other members of the network, and seized war ammunition and military equipment. In addition to the previous statement, and as a result of the investigations and security follow-up of the network members, the Intelligence Directorate carried out additional raids in the town of Arsal, where they seized a large quantity of military ammunition. The seized items were handed over and investigations began with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judiciary, while follow-up continues to arrest the rest of those involved.
