The Public Prosecutor of Appeal in Beirut, Judge Raja Hamoush, sued the former Governor of the Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salama, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bank Audi, Samir Hanna, in a file related to financial and monetary crimes, and referred them, along with the file, to the First Investigating Judge in Beirut, Rola Othman. Hamoush attributed to Salameh and Hanna crimes related to establishing fictitious companies, seizing funds belonging to the Bank of Lebanon, and using these funds to purchase shares and bonds from commercial banks in fraudulent ways, in addition to illicit enrichment, money laundering, and bribery. The Public Prosecutor of Appeal requested the issuance of a preliminary arrest warrant against Riad Salama, provided that the Public Prosecution is reviewed after questioning Samir Hanna to express its demands in light of the results of the investigation.
