The US special envoy to Syria and Iraq, Tom Barrack, confirmed that the United States is negotiating with the Lebanese government as the only legitimate authority in Lebanon, stressing that Washington is not negotiating with Hezbollah, which the US classifies as a foreign terrorist organization.
Barak explained that the understandings resulting from negotiations are more sustainable, pointing out that his reference to the United Nations does not mean supporting its position.
Regarding the Golan, Barak confirmed that US President Donald Trump determined US policy towards it in 2019, indicating that this position has not changed.
