A citizen was blocked by two rented cars in the Amchit area to carry out a kidnapping, before the Army Intelligence Directorate was later able to free him. Yesterday, the Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: A patrol from the Intelligence Directorate was able to free a kidnapped person in the town of Amchit - Jbeil, after careful security monitoring and follow-up, and arrested 7 people involved in the kidnapping. Subsequently, another patrol from the directorate raided a residential complex in the Al-Bouar area - Keserwan, and arrested 12 Syrians, including 3 women, for wandering within Lebanese territory without legal papers. After conducting preliminary investigations, it became clear that the detainees constituted two gangs active in people smuggling, in addition to the involvement of women in immoral acts, and that the kidnapping was the result of financial disputes between the smugglers. The investigation began with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
