The Army Commander, General Rudolf Heikal, visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on August 30 and 2026, where a meeting was held between His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Army Commander, in the presence of Crown Prince His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, and a number of officials, at the Al-Husseiniya Royal Palace. During the meeting, His Majesty the King affirmed that the Kingdom stands by Lebanon and supports its efforts to preserve its security and sovereignty. His Majesty the King also expressed his full support for the international conference in support of the Lebanese Armed Forces, which will be held in Paris on September 17, 2026, with the aim of enhancing the operational capabilities of the army and its ability to assume its national responsibilities. General Heikal had visited the headquarters of the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces, where he was received by Major General Al-Hunaiti, and official ceremonies were held for him. After that, a meeting was held between General Heikal and Major General Al-Hunaiti, in the presence of a number of officers, during which the most prominent developments and ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two armies were discussed, and the importance of supporting the military institution in light of the challenges it faces was stressed. General Heikal also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom for its ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the army based on its national role.
