Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received MP Ghassan Hasbani, a member of the “Strong Republic” bloc, who said after the meeting: “The discussion dealt with the general situation in Lebanon, in addition to a number of specific files, the most important of which is extending the state’s sovereignty over its entire territory, and strengthening the presence of its military, security, financial, judicial and administrative institutions that give strength and impetus to the establishment of the state. Hasbani said: “The research also addressed the situation of the capital, Beirut, especially the basic files that are being organized, most notably the waste file, which is a delicate topic, and research is underway to find the best solutions in cooperation with the specialists and concerned bodies, in addition to the Beirut Municipal Council and the Beirut Municipality. This file takes an essential part of the discussion at the current stage, with the aim of avoiding any problems or potential disaster as a result of the aggravation of the waste crisis in Beirut.”
