Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced that “the control of Ali al-Taher Hill represents the end of the tightening grip on the security zone in southern Lebanon.” He said: “We advanced towards Ali Al-Taher after intelligence information about the presence of Hezbollah command and control tunnels,” noting that “the Israeli army will complete the neutralization and destruction of the tunnels and will be stationed according to an appropriate tactical arrangement.” He added: "We will not withdraw from the security zone until Hezbollah disarms all parts of Lebanon."
