Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam received French Minister of Justice Gérald Darmanin and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of Minister of Justice Adel Nassar and the French Ambassador to Lebanon Patrick Durel. During the meeting, they discussed Lebanese-French relations and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the judicial and judicial fields, support the path of judicial reforms and enhance the independence of the judiciary, especially in light of the existing cooperation between the ministries of justice in the two countries. The research also addressed developments in the south, in light of the recent Israeli escalation, and the efforts made at the diplomatic level, leading to Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanese territory and the return of stability to the south. They also discussed the future of the international presence in southern Lebanon and the period after the end of the UNIFIL mission, and the importance of avoiding any vacuum and supporting the Lebanese army in extending state authority over its entire territory.
