Fars Agency published pictures that it said were of the wreckage of an American F-35 plane that was shot down in central Iran, noting that the “LN” symbol on the tail of the fighter indicates that it belongs to the British Royal Air Force’s Lakenheath base, which includes the 48th Fighter Group within the US Air Forces in Europe and Africa.
In this context, the spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbia headquarters announced that a second advanced American fifth-generation F-35 fighter was shot down in the airspace of central Iran, after being targeted by a modern air defense system belonging to the Aerospace Force of the Revolutionary Guard, explaining that it was belonging to the “Luckenheath” squadron.
He added that the intensity of the explosion at the time the plane was hit and fell made it likely that the pilot's chances of survival were weak.
