Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee announced that the army killed the leader of the "Lebanese Brigades" organization and seven other members as they fled from the Shebaa area to the Sidon area.
Adraee said via “X”: “The Israeli army attacked yesterday in the Sidon region and eliminated Maher Qassem Hamdan, the leader of the Lebanese Brigades organization” in the Shebaa region in southern Lebanon.
He added: "Hamdan was responsible for recruiting members, providing them with combat weapons, and financing the Lebanese brigades in the Shebaa area."
He pointed out that "this organization is funded by Hezbollah and is directly linked to it, and the organization's members participate in implementing attack plans against the Israeli army and the citizens of Israel."
He continued: "Hamdan was eliminated along with seven additional members who fled from the Shebaa area to the Sidon area."
