Salam: There is no retreat from the exclusivity of weapons... and I will not allow anyone to bypass the state

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said in a press interview: The government continues its work steadily and will not back down from any decision it takes, stressing that it is adopting an institutional methodology with the aim of addressing the crises that Lebanon is going through.
Salam stressed commitment to national principles, the Taif Agreement, and what was stated in the ministerial statement, noting that “no one will be allowed, after today, to bypass the state that embraces all.”
Salam stressed that Lebanon is based on one state, one law, and one army, pointing out that the exclusive control of weapons in the hands of legitimate forces is a fixed and irreversible path to ensuring the state’s sovereignty over its entire territory.
He considered that negotiation constitutes an essential gateway to ending the war and restoring stability, security, and growth to Lebanon.
