The President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, congratulated the Lebanese on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, at the beginning of the Cabinet session, and hoped that God would bring it back to them and to Lebanon under better conditions. He pointed out that Lebanon fully appreciates the meaning of this Eid, as it has been sacrificing on behalf of others for nearly four decades. He also hoped that we would witness the complete and final liberation of Lebanon. He praised the work carried out by the ministries concerned with the situation of displaced Lebanese, the military and security services, the Red Cross and Civil Defense, and other agencies that work around the clock to secure the minimum daily requirements of the displaced and alleviate even a little of their suffering. He asked the ministries to consult and activate the role of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, which has completed its quorum, in accordance with what the law stipulates, in files concerned with economic, social and environmental affairs. The President of the Republic touched on the necessity of taking legal advice from external institutions on limited judicial issues, while benefiting from the institutions concerned with the Lebanese situation and the system therein, instead of relying on institutions from abroad that do not take into account Lebanese systems. He also requested that the file related to the payment of dues to international law firms that represent Lebanon in foreign disputes be addressed, which is an issue that dates back to before the formation of the current government.
