Information Minister Paul Morcos pointed out, after the cabinet session in Baabda Palace, that Prime Minister Nawaf Salam spoke about establishing a joint higher committee between Lebanon and Syria, explaining that Lebanon aspires to establish a state-to-state relationship on the basis of common interests, and that the Lebanese-Syrian Business Council will soon see the light. Morcos confirmed that the Council of Ministers condemned the Israeli attacks, especially those that targeted ambulance crews and journalists, noting that these attacks were presented to seventy male and female ambassadors, with the United Nations Human Rights Mission visiting to conduct field inspections regarding them. Morcos also announced that the Council of Ministers appointed members of the boards of directors of the North and South Water Institutions, Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and the Bekaa. Morcos indicated that the Council of Ministers appointed Hala Al-Mawla as Director-General of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Wiam Abu Hamdan as Director-General of the Ministry of Public Health, and Maurice Qarqafi as Director-General of Oil Facilities. Regarding the recent US sanctions, Morcos said that clear statements were issued by the competent authorities and the Lebanese army regarding this file, and therefore the Council of Ministers did not discuss it.
