*The Information and Public Relations Department of the General Directorate of Civil Defense issued the following statement:*
The General Directorate of Civil Defense mourns the martyr Kamel Youssef Zein, from the Sohmar Organic Center - Jeb Jenin Regional, who was martyred on 5/26/2026 as a result of the Israeli aggression on the town of Qaraoun, while carrying out his humanitarian duty.
In detail, the Israeli raid targeted a citizen while he was traveling on a motorcycle near the Qaraoun Dam. At the same time, the martyr Kamel Youssef Zein, a member of the civil defense, happened to be passing by in his car, as he was with his family. He had no choice but to get out immediately, leaving his family in the car, and went to help the injured person and carry out his humanitarian duty in aiding him. While he was carrying out the mission, enemy aircraft attacked the same location again, causing the civil defense member to be seriously injured, and he later died of his wounds.

- Kamel Youssef Zein, born on December 3, 1972 - Sohmor (West Bekaa District).
He volunteered voluntarily at the General Directorate of Civil Defense on January 2, 2001.
- It was registered in the General Directorate of Civil Defense on 8/25/2023.
- He followed many training courses in the field of firefighting, first aid and rescue.
- He received many commendations and congratulations from the Director General of Civil Defense.
- Participate in many dangerous and delicate missions.
- Family status: Married and has 4 children.
