The Vice President of the Supreme Shiite Islamic Council, Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, said in his Eid Al-Adha sermon, “Eid is a holiday for those who feared and sacrificed what was dearest to them in defense of their religion, their homeland, and their values, which the enemy wanted to violate, relying on brute force, which he believed would resolve the battle.”
Al-Khatib added: “If the pilgrims are standing today in Mina, they are performing the duty of symbolic sacrifice, while our honorable people are performing the actual sacrifice,” considering that “the result of these sacrifices will be God’s coming redemption with victory, pride and dignity.”
He stressed that “today is a day to celebrate the promise of God Almighty, who will not break his promise,” adding: “You won when you fulfilled what you promised God, and His promise will be true to you.”
He pointed out that “he had hoped that the Eid would be spent in homes, cities and villages, but the continuing aggression imposed this test,” and said: “You have been patient and sacrificed what was precious and valuable in victory for your dignity and pride.”
He continued: “This is your resistance, whose men have sold their skulls to the Most Gracious in defense of this dignity, and it inflicts painful blows on the enemy that pushes him to threaten and threaten, despite the imbalance of power, as some criticize us, and this is not in our calculations.”
Al-Khatib believed that “the international community is standing by watching what the enemy is doing or supporting its crimes materially and morally,” noting that the United States “was not satisfied with supplying it with the most lethal and destructive weapons.”
He also considered that “our Arab and Muslim brothers are watching what is happening, while some inside who have turned against their covenants and what they swore to before the Lebanese and the world are conspiring with the occupation.”
