After targeting Qaraoun... the party warns against bombing civilian facilities in Lebanon
Fady Mahouly
Hezbollah said in a statement that the Israeli enemy continues its policy of lies and deception to justify its ongoing attacks on Lebanon and its crimes against civilians, children, paramedics, and media professionals, in flagrant violation of all international laws and norms. Today, he comes out with false allegations and ridiculous accusations to justify his dangerous attack in the vicinity of the Qaraoun Dam, which is considered one of the most important vital and strategic water installations and infrastructure in Lebanon, and constitutes an essential source of water, irrigation, and electrical energy for dozens of Lebanese regions, in a way that directly affects the security of the Lebanese.
He stressed that the enemy’s claim of concern for Lebanese infrastructure and Lebanon’s water, agricultural and electrical resources, and his fear for the Lebanese economy, will not deceive anyone. His attempt to hold the resistance responsible for the crises caused by the occupation itself and its ongoing aggression with open and direct American support, and his attempt to portray the resistance as working against the Lebanese national interest, fall within the context of internal incitement, stirring up strife, and spreading divisions among the Lebanese.
He stressed that the Israeli enemy, which during its wars and repeated attacks on Lebanon destroyed bridges, roads, electricity and water stations, ports, homes, and civilian facilities, and continues to carry out daily attacks against the Lebanese, Lebanon’s sovereignty, and its national capabilities, cannot claim to be concerned for them or to be a protector of them, but rather the real and permanent threat to Lebanon’s security, stability, infrastructure, and economy remains.
The party warned that these fabricated allegations and pretexts could be a prelude to a new Israeli attack targeting the Qaraoun Dam or its surroundings, or targeting civilian and vital installations in Lebanon. We place these threats in the hands of the international community and human rights and humanitarian institutions, which are now required to break their silence in the face of the repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanon and its infrastructure.
He called on the Lebanese state, with all its institutions, to sound the alarm bell and not just watch, and to take immediate action at all diplomatic, legal and media levels, and to submit an urgent complaint to the competent international authorities, in a way that places the international community before its responsibility to restrain this enemy from its aggression and crimes against Lebanon and its people.
