Israel expands its military operations north of the Litani River in southern Lebanon, as its forces begin to advance towards the town of Dibbine in the Marjayoun District in Nabatieh Governorate. The Israeli forces are moving towards the occupied city of Khiam under an umbrella of air and artillery fire.
Information circulated on Friday morning about the fall of the town into the hands of the Israeli army.
What do we know about the town of Dibbin?
The town of Dibbin is about 650 meters above sea level
It is about 100 km from Beirut, about 31 km from the center of Nabatieh Governorate, and about 1 km from the district center of Marjayoun.
Why are Israeli forces trying to occupy it?
The town of Dibbin is characterized by a very sensitive geographical location, north of the city of Khiam, north of the city of Marjayoun, and east of the Litani River
The town overlooks large areas and exposes vital defense lines, and controlling it breaks the defense line that connects the eastern sector of the south to the Lebanese interior.
Its fall gives the Israeli army an advanced platform to monitor and target the areas of Iqlim al-Tuffah and the mountainous depths
The Israeli incursion into Dibbin facilitates the cutting of supply routes and the isolation of areas such as Khiam, Hasbaya and Marjayoun.
