Ben Gvir: We will not give up on dismantling Hezbollah, and the agreement does not oblige us

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir wrote on his account via “X”: “The Trump agreement does not bind us. Israel is not subject to the United States, and we are an independent and sovereign state.”
He added, "Our duty is towards the citizens of Israel, the soldiers of the Israeli army, and the Jewish people, and our historical duty towards the persecuted and murdered Jews over thousands of years of exile, in order to provide security for the Jews in the Land of Israel."
He continued, "Every time we submitted to international pressure at the expense of Israel's security, we paid a bloody price with interest. That was true in the Oslo Accords, it was true in the 2006 Lebanon agreement, and it was true in all the periods of containment in Gaza that exploded in our faces."
He continued, "We affirm: We love the United States and thank President Trump. However, the State of Israel is not a banana republic."
He added, "I constantly say these things to the Prime Minister, and I repeat them in closed rooms at every important historical moment: At historical moments, a historic decision must be taken."
He pointed out, "My position is clear: We are not a party to this agreement that does not guarantee our security, and it does not obligate us in any way. We must not give up anything less than the dismantling of Hezbollah, and we must not withdraw from any land that our fighters have controlled and cleared of terrorist infrastructure. We must not return to a situation in which thousands of terrorists sit on the borders of the settlements in the north, and certainly we must not remain silent for a single moment in the face of shooting toward the State of Israel."
He pointed out, "We must make it clear: Every launch of a drone, drone, or missile towards Israel from Lebanon will lead to an Israeli strike in the suburb. This was the balance of deterrence a few months ago, and we must not abandon it in any way."
He concluded, "Above all, we must make clear to everyone: The people of Israel are a 3,000-year-old people, an eternal people who do not fear a long road; we believe in the Creator of the universe. We are a strong and proud people who returned to their homeland strong and proud, and no longer intend to lower their gaze before the enemies. The days when the Jew received blows and remained silent are over. This will never happen again."
