The General Directorate of Lebanese Civil Defense announced that, “Today, members of the Lebanese Civil Defense carried out operations to extinguish forest fires that broke out in a number of areas, with the participation of members and mechanisms from multiple centers, and they were able to control and extinguish them, before carrying out the necessary cooling operations to ensure that the fires did not renew.” The fires included the following areas: In Akkar Governorate: Barqayel and Khirbet Al-Jindi in Akkar District, and Al-Bireh and Menjez within the Qobayat Center. In the Bekaa Governorate: Ain Atta in the Rashaya District, Zahle and Bar Elias in the Zahle District, and Shamstar in the Baalbek District, in addition to the Hermel region. In the Mount Lebanon Governorate: Gasta, Jeita and Faqra in the Keserwan District, Sofar in the Aley District, and Baakleen, Deir el-Qamar and Ain Zhalta in the Chouf District. In the North Governorate: Zgharta and Kafarhoura in the Zgharta District, and Tripoli and Abu Samra in the Tripoli District. In Nabatieh Governorate: Kfarsir in Nabatieh District, Ain Jurfa in Hasbaya District, and Jezzine in Jezzine District. In the South Governorate: Dardaghia and Abbasiya in the Tire district, and Kafarjara in the Sidon district. In the West Bekaa: Sohmar and Jubb Jenin in the West Bekaa District. The General Directorate of Civil Defense called on citizens to "exercise caution and refrain from setting fires in forests and dry grasses, and to immediately report any fire by calling the emergency number 125, in order to allow rapid intervention and limit the spread of the fire."
